HTX Connect, a local organization that builds bridges between dance studios and dance programs, pre-professional and professional dancers, and choreographers and directors, to create a deep well of connections and a beacon of resources and opportunities for dance education, dancers, and families.  From dance intensives, film projects, and college information sessions, we hope to guide the dance community toward a future of collaboration and creating solutions together. The Spaces Dance  Concert will provide pre-professional college students an opportunity to work with professional dance makers! Additionally, by submissions, we will cast an “Emerging Artist” ensemble of dancers aged 12-18 to participate in the performance. These Emerging Artists will have the opportunity to learn a concert-length work created by an aspiring choreographer to be premiered during the concert. To further connect the community, we will be inviting two professional dance companies to perform in the concert, giving these young artists the opportunity to be immersed in a professional setting and to be inspired by these working professionals.

As we start to develop plans for our concert, we are reaching out to HTX Connect supporters and contributors like yourself to help make this show a success. While profits from our three HTX Connect events will be used to help fund the show, we will need additional funding for expenses such as dancers’ compensation, theater rental, stage management, lighting, and rehearsal space.
